Drifting
As it starts to get warmer, I'm dreaming of bicycles.
I imagine lazy, hazy summer days, drifting on a bicycle, around town or in the country - maybe an ice cream in one hand and handle bars in the other. (Although I did once master the art of riding a bicycle whilst holding an umbrella, so maybe it needn't be sunny?!) Pastel colours and floaty sundresses, with plimsolls on my feet and no place to go.
I particularly like this Glorie bike from Bobbin Bicycles
These lovely girls and their bikes are all from London Cycle Chic

Number 1
I have finally decided it is time to join the blogging revolution. I enjoy so many other peoples' that it only seemed fair to share my own thoughts with the world. (I started a scrapbook journal today too, as there's a certain something about cutting and pasting - with scissors, glue and sticky fingers....) This online journal though, will be the place I share everything that's not on paper, and some things that are. It's mostly a place to post all my favourite things, so I can look back and see them all in years to come.
I have a funny feeling that for the first few days I will be posting like mad, because I want to get in all the things that have lately been floating around on my computer and in my head - before I forget them. It's so hard to know where to start....
I'll start with first light this morning - well, pre-light. I couldn't sleep last night and so I was awake at 3/4am-ish. The window was open and outside was still and fresh.

Slowly, out of the silence, I heard the birds waking up... they started off singing softly and then erupted into their full morning chorus. It was glorious.
What a way to start the day! And to start this blog.
